The group exhibition “Portraits” at the Gordon Gallery includes works by eight contemporary African artists, who use portraiture as a tool to correct and liberate the African image, through a celebration of beauty and cultural diversity. In many ways, Kahinda Wiley can be seen as the forerunner of this movement.
